Message from the Superintendent
Going into the month of December we applied a complete fertilizer and re-emergent application to all tees, fairways, and surrounds. The thought in mind is that coming out of our dormant period we will have enough nutrition in the soil so that the Bermuda grass can come back in a healthy environment. We had pretty significant rainfall here at the course over the month of December, but not enough to curve our current drought conditions.
We have also begun our tree-trimming process where we left off last winter and have improved bunker conditions and playability throughout the golf course. We continue to spray weeds with post-emergent herbicide as well as continuing to spray greens for nutrition and fungus.
Warmer weather is around the corner, so I urge the Membership to help us to take care of the course and keep managing cart traffic on the fairways and rough areas to as little as possible. This will give the dormant Bermuda the best possible environment to regrow in the spring as quickly as possible. As always please repair your ball-marks on the greens and fill in divots with the sand provided on the carts.
Thank You,
Rick Jardine
Golf Course Superintendent
